Hyatt announced its collaboration with Delta hours after it said it would not continue its loyalty relationship with American Airlines.

Dive Insight:
The collaboration comes as “exceptional travel extends far beyond a hotel stay” and is increasingly “about creating memorable experiences throughout the full travel journey,” Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian said in a statement.
“By bringing together two brands with a shared commitment to care and exceptional hospitality, we will make it easier for our members to enjoy a connected and rewarding experience, from takeoff to check out,” Hoplamazian said.
The partnership showcases flight and hotel pairings that offer unique experiences and loyalty earnings opportunities across the travel journey, per the release. Specific details about enrollment, eligibility, earning opportunities and experiential offerings will be shared in the months ahead, according to Hyatt.
The hotel company has made other recent changes to World of Hyatt, including restructuring the loyalty program’s award chart in May.
Hyatt is among hotel companies, including Marriott International and Choice Hotels International, that are evolving their loyalty strategies as travelers increasingly place value on experiences and demand perks beyond their hotel stay.
During the second quarter of 2026, World of Hyatt reached 69 million members, up 17% year over year, Hoplamazian said on a July earnings call.
