Mark Weinstein has stepped down as global chief marketing officer and head of luxury brands at Hilton to pursue a leadership opportunity “outside the travel industry,” according to a company spokesperson. Hilton did not announce an immediate successor to the role.
Weinstein joined Hilton in 2010, where he began as a senior marketing director, according to his LinkedIn profile. Later in 2020, he became the company’s CMO, and in 2025, he was named global chief marketing officer and head of luxury brands, per the spokesperson.
“Over those years I've had experiences that far surpassed my wildest imagination,” Weinstein wrote in a Sept. 10 LinkedIn post. “Places, projects, and roles so big and transformative I never even thought to dream of them.”
As CMO, Weinstein helped lead Hilton’s brand and performance marketing, media strategy and strategic partnerships for a portfolio of 28 brands, totaling 9,200 hotels and 1.3 million rooms, per Hilton.
Under Weinstein's leadership, Hilton launched its “Hilton. For the Stay” campaign, its first global marketing platform, as well as the “It Matters Where You Stay” campaign.
He also helped grow the Hilton Honors loyalty program from 25 million members to more than 250 million members globally, per the spokesperson.
As head of luxury brands, he was responsible for the strategic direction of Hilton’s rapidly growing luxury portfolio, per the company’s website.
Weinstein has been recognized for his work at Hilton by various media companies, including Forbes’ 2026 “World’s Most Influential CMOs” list.
Earlier this year, Hilton announced that Chris Silcock, president of global brands and commercial services, would retire in the first quarter of 2027, and made a slew of leadership changes in preparation.
