G6 Hospitality CEO Sonal Sinha is stepping down from the top post, according to a news release from the parent company of the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands.
Sinha was appointed to the role in 2024, when travel and hospitality firm OYO acquired G6 Hospitality for $525 million. G6 is also a part of OYO’s parent company, Prism, formerly called Oravel Stays before rebranding in September 2025. In early 2026, Prism launched upscale brand Belvilla District 6 by securing 10 former Sonder properties.
During his tenure, Sinha “played a pivotal role in leading the company through a critical period of integration and stabilization, helping establish the strong operational foundation from which G6 will pursue its next phase of growth,” according to the release.
Sinha will continue to support the business through a transition period and plans to remain involved in an advisory capacity. The company did not share any details about a successor or an interim CEO.
Additionally, G6 promoted Nikhil Heda to country head of G6 Hospitality for the U.S. and Anuj Ladha to an expanded role of national head of brand performance. The appointments will support the company’s U.S. growth “as it expands its presence across the economy, midscale, and upscale hospitality segments,” per G6.

As country head of the U.S., Heda will oversee G6’s growth agenda, including franchise expansion, strategic partnerships and development initiatives. Meanwhile, Ladha will continue to strengthen franchisee engagement, brand performance and operational excellence, according to the release.
"Nikhil knows our U.S. business; he's spent years building it, market by market,” Ankit Tandon, vice chairman of G6 and global chief operating officer of Prism, said in a statement. “Anuj has run our brand performance across the country and knows what it takes to support owners on the ground. Together they step in with a clear mandate to deepen our partnership with franchisees and grow the brands across the country.”
Regarding Sinha’s departure, Tandon added: “Sonal leaves the business stronger and well-positioned for its next phase, and we thank him for that. He leaves behind a stronger organization that is well-positioned for future growth.”
The leadership changes come after G6 expanded its extended stay offerings with the launch of Studio 6 Plus in April. Focused on the upper economy segment, Studio 6 Plus “continues to gain traction with owners and developers,” per G6.
Looking ahead, G6 said it plans to launch new midscale and upscale boutique hotel offerings, “creating a multi-segment platform designed to serve guests, owners, and developers across board.”
