Hyatt Hotels has opened the 194-key boutique Hotel Solaya in Scottsdale, Arizona, under its JdV by Hyatt collection brand, the company announced Tuesday.
The lifestyle hotel opened after a comprehensive renovation that revamped its guest rooms and common spaces. The project introduced “a bold, Modern Mexican flare” to the property’s interiors, with the new design “balancing rich cultural textures with tonal elegance,” according to a release. The property, formerly operated as The Monarch, will continue to be managed by Dallas-based Dreamscape Hospitality.
Hotel Solaya features amenities such as an outdoor pool deck, an on-site spa and a fitness center. The hotel also offers seven event spaces, including a 3,500-square-foot outdoor lawn and a 2,600-square-foot ballroom.
Modern American restaurant Ella on the Park is set to open at the hotel later this spring, with seating across an indoor dining room, outdoor patio and a 360-degree bar. Common Ground Bistro in the hotel lobby, meanwhile, offers American bistro-style cuisine, per the release.
“Hotel Solaya was designed to celebrate the energy of Scottsdale while offering guests a space that feels both vibrant and welcoming,” Tobby Rau, the hotel’s general manager, said in a statement. “From the architecture and design to the culinary concepts and poolside atmosphere, every element reflects a sense of curiosity, connection, and discovery.”
Hotel Solaya joins Hyatt’s growing JdV brand, which added the Lowline Hotel in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, last month. Hyatt opened a lifestyle hotel in Anchorage, Alaska, under the JdV portfolio last year. And former Bunkhouse property Hotel Genevieve in Louisville, Kentucky, also converted under the brand last year.
Additionally, Hyatt is expanding its luxury Unbound Collection, which added The Georgian in Santa Monica, California, last month.
