Hotel management company Aimbridge Hospitality has launched its proprietary Labor Insight & Forecasting Tool to help owners and operators better organize their staffing, according to a news release shared with Hotel Dive.
LIFT combines labor data from multiple systems into “one connected view” using advanced data science and artificial intelligence-assisted forecasting, per the release, providing property and finance leaders with a “common reference for planning labor daily, weekly and monthly,” while also improving efficiency.
“Launching LIFT reflects Aimbridge’s broader commitment to invest in technology that directly supports owner profitability,” Keryn McNamara, chief information officer at Plano, Texas-based Aimbridge, said in a statement. “We have a tremendous amount of data across our hotels, and we want to use it to help our teams act quickly and give owners a clear line of sight into how those decisions show up in hotel performance.”
The platform connects forecasting, scheduling and execution on one screen so property and regional teams can “catch a staffing gap the moment it happens,” Chris O’Donnell, president of select service at Aimbridge, said in a statement.
LIFT uses existing property data, which is automatically updated so that information remains current.
O’Donnell said that while labor is “one of the hardest areas to get right,” it’s also the most important when it comes to determining a hotel’s profitability.
According to Aimbridge, results from the platform’s pilot were “positive,” with participating hotels seeing “measurable” productivity gains, particularly in housekeeping and laundry. Scheduling accuracy also improved.
LIFT is the second proprietary platform Aimbridge has launched this year, following its June rollout of S.P.A.R.K., an enterprise program designed to give hotel owners greater consistency and performance transparency.
The LIFT tool comes about five months after Mews launched an artificial intelligence-powered product called Mews Business Intelligence, which is designed to help hoteliers make smarter decisions, including when they relate to staffing.
An Abode Worldwide report published in April found that property management systems and artificial intelligence-led platforms attracted the most investment over the past year
