Marriott International has appointed Daniel Dubowski as its new senior vice president and chief information security officer, a company spokesperson confirmed to Hotel Dive.
Dubowski joins the company after most recently serving in the same role at car rental company Hertz, according to his LinkedIn. He takes over the role from Arno Van Der Walt and will report to Marriott Chief Information Officer Naveen Manga, the spokesperson confirmed.
In a Monday LinkedIn post, Manga said Dubowski “brings deep experience leading cybersecurity and risk programs across hospitality, travel, financial services and healthcare,” which will “be instrumental in helping us strengthen trust, resilience and security across our global enterprise.”
The Marriott spokesperson declined to share the specific duties that Dubowski will now be responsible for. However, Manga wrote that Dubowski will assist him as Marriott continues “building the future of technology with security by design and trust by design at the foundation of everything we do.”
Marriott is currently in the midst of a multiyear technology transformation, deploying artificial intelligence to enhance the guest experience as well as to assist associates and owners, Manga shared during a virtual event in May. In addition to rolling out a conversational search tool for travelers this summer, Marriott is testing out automation across hotel operations.
