HHM Hotels has added 11 properties to its management portfolio through a strategic alliance with Wurzak Hotel Group, according to a Tuesday news release.
The integration brings Wurzak’s collection of “high quality, premium-branded and lifestyle” hotels into HHM’s platform, while also expanding HHM’s footprint in Philadelphia and Florida, per the release. The pair have had a longtime relationship, spanning for more than 30 years.
Among the properties joining HHM’s portfolio are two Marriott-branded hotels in Florida, The Dalmar in Fort Lauderdale and the Moxy St. Petersburg Downtown in St. Petersburg, as well as the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue in Pennsylvania, per the release. Ownership at these hotels remains unchanged.
“We admire the quality of the Wurzak portfolio and the standards they have maintained in Philly and Florida — regions where we already have deep roots,” Shawn Tuli, managing partner and chief investment officer of Philadelphia-based HHM Hotels, said in the release. “Bringing these exceptional hotels and teams into our system allows us to leverage our regional scale while continuing our growth strategy."
For Wurzak, also based in Philadelphia, the move grants the company access to HHM’s infrastructure, technology and support, while providing growth opportunities for its employees in a “much larger network,” according to Jake Wurzak, co-CEO of Wurzak Hotel Group.
The combination also builds upon HHM’s “strong growth trajectory” as it expands its portfolio across the U.S. and Canada “through selective, high-value management partnerships,” per the release.
HHM manages hotels under Marriott International, Hilton, Hyatt and IHG Hotels & Resorts brands and operates more than 50 independent luxury and lifestyle hotels, according to the company.
Last June, HHM Hotels restructured its leadership team through promotions and appointments across its operations and commercial divisions to boost “scalable growth.” In 2023, HHM, formerly Hersha Hospitality Management, launched a luxury lifestyle division to drive value and revenue for owners and investors.
