Wynham Hotels & Resorts has expanded its board of directors to nine members, appointing Alexandra Jung to serve on the corporate governance and audit committees, the company announced Monday.
Jung brings more than 25 years of investment management expertise to the post, with knowledge across various sectors including hotel and leisure, power, consumer, industrials, transport, energy, healthcare and real estate, per Wyndham. She currently serves as co-founder and managing partner of Amateras Capital as well as head of private debt funds and partner at private equity firm AEA Investors.
Jung also serves on the board of homebuilding company NVR Inc. She previously held leadership roles at Oak Hill Advisors, Greywolf Capital Management and Goldman Sachs, according to her LinkedIn.
“With vast experience across oceans and corporate sectors, Alex is an experienced business builder and leader with deep global portfolio management, international investment and operational experiences,” Wyndham Chairman Stephen Holmes said in the release. “Her addition to Wyndham’s Board of Directors will help us continue positioning Wyndham for sustained growth as we make hotel travel possible for all.”
In addition to Holmes, Jung joins Wyndham CEO Geoff Ballotti on the board. Other independent members include Ronald Nelson, former chairman and CEO of Avis Budget Group; Myra Biblowit, former president of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation; and Bruce Churchill, former president of DirecTV Latin America.
Chairman of Colgate-Palmolive Mukul Deoras, former Vice Chairman of York Capital Management James Buckman and former Chief Operating Officer of Trebuchet Group Holdings Pauline Richards also sit on Wyndham’s board of directors.
Other hotel companies to shake up their boards this year include Marriott International, which elected Taco Bell CEO Sean Tresvant as an independent director; Hilton, which tapped former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer to succeed longtime director Judith McHale; and MGM Resorts International, which added NBCUniversal executive Donna Langley.
