Dive Insight:
New York-based design studio Atelier Marsh will design Rosewood Calistoga, taking cues from the late architect Ed Tuttle as well as the local terroir, according to Rosewood.
The resort’s culinary offerings — including a farm-to-table restaurant and cocktail bar — will lean on produce from the property’s gardens as well as regional farms and wineries. Rosewood Calistoga will also offer cooking workshops and vineyard dinners, catering to guests who are increasingly seeking culinary experiences, hospitality pros told Hotel Dive earlier this year.
Rosewood Calistoga’s Asaya spa concept will include treatment rooms, an outdoor garden, hydrotherapy and a fitness center. The hotel will also feature separate adults-only and family-friendly pools.
The property will also include 20 private villas and 13 home sites. Earlier this month, Rosewood tapped Jenni Benzaquen to lead its global residences division as senior vice president.
Additionally this month, Preferred Hotels & Resorts added Bernardus Lodge, also in California’s wine country, to its luxury Legend Collection.
Rosewood is expanding globally, with forthcoming resorts in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Courchevel, France, announced this summer. Rosewood also opened hotels in Doha, Qatar; Montéon, Mexico; and Amsterdam in recent months.
