Remington Hospitality chief operating officer Jason Reader is jumping ship to Davidson Hospitality Group, taking the same title at the Atlanta-based hotel management company.
Davidson Hospitality announced Reader as its new COO on Monday, noting he will be responsible for driving operational performance and profitability for the company's growing portfolio, which spans 85 hotels across multiple brands.
Reader joins Davidson Hospitality after serving in the same executive position at Remington for more than a year, according to his LinkedIn page. Before serving as Remington’s COO, Reader was senior vice president of operations as well as executive vice president at the Dallas-based management company during his four-year tenure.
Previously, Reader served as COO at Magna Hospitality and spent 15 years with Pyramid Hotel Group in multiple leadership roles, according to Davidson. He also currently serves on the Marriott International and Hilton brand advisory councils as well as Marriott’s lifestyle advisory council and Hyatt Hotels’ franchise advisory council.
Reader’s “track record and industry acumen will be instrumental to bolster operational efficiencies, support exceptional guest experiences at scale, and ultimately optimize financial performance to create value for our owners,” Davidson Hospitality CEO and President Thom Geshay said in a statement.
Reader’s departure from Remington comes after the company’s former CEO, Sloan Dean, exited earlier this year and was subsequently replaced by Ben Perelmuter in May.
A Remington spokesperson told Hotel Dive that the search for a new COO is underway.
