Dive Brief:
- Outrigger Resorts & Hotels debuted the Premier Suite Collection, a global portfolio of beachfront villas and suites across Hawaii and several international destinations, the brand announced Wednesday.
- Launching amid growing demand for multigenerational travel and residential-style stays, the new collection features units with “expansive layouts and refined interiors” as well as access to the Voyager 47 Club Lounge at select properties, according to Outrigger.
- The collection debuts as part of a multiyear transformation across Outrigger’s beachfront resorts, including in Hawaii, where the hospitality operator is reinvesting hundreds of millions of dollars, Sean Dee, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Outrigger Hospitality Group, told Hotel Dive last month.
Dive Insight:
Across Hawaii, the Premier Suite Collection includes multi-bedroom suites “designed for gathering” at Outrigger Honua Kai Resort & Spa, the 2,500-square-foot Royal Huakaʻi Suite at Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa as well as the Coral Reef Penthouse Suite and the 10,000-square-foot Grand Navigator Suite at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort.
Beyond the Hawaiian Islands, the collection offers residential-style accommodations in Fiji, Thailand, Mauritius and the Maldives.
“The Premier Suites & Villas Collection brings barefoot luxury to life in a more expansive way, where design, space and culture are shaped by the destination,” Dee said in a release.
Last month, Dee shared that Outrigger is focusing on investment and development in the upper upscale and luxury segments, as luxury consumers drive travel spending amid a growing wealth bifurcation. As part of an ongoing five-year plan, Outrigger is on track to reinvest roughly $250 million to $300 million on renovations across its Hawaii resorts, Dee said.
Outrigger is among hospitality players expanding their luxury offerings as the segment outperforms lower-tier chain scales.
Also in Hawaii, Marriott International announced last month that it will convert The Resort at Kapalua Bay on Maui’s northwest coast under its luxury St. Regis Hotels & Resorts brand. Hilton is also planning its first Curio Collection hotel for Hawaii, on the island of Kauai.
