NewcrestImage is preparing to open a revamped lifestyle hotel in Plano, Texas in the second quarter of this year, following a renovation that will add new food and beverage concepts and a “more welcoming” design, according to a company release.
The Clara Hotel, formerly a NYLO property that Dallas-based investment firm NewcrestImage bought in August 2025, is undergoing a transformation that aims to bring a “warmer, more residential feel” to the building, per the release.
The reimagined hotel will retain its affiliation with Hilton's upscale Tapestry Collection. Featuring 176 rooms, including eight suites, The Clara will serve both business and leisure travelers.
When the hotel opens, it will feature a restaurant called Field & Vine, as well as The Library, which will be a lounge by day and a reservation-only speakeasy on Thursdays and weekend nights. The hotel’s F&B offerings align with a larger trend to offer core, experiential amenities to guests.
The property’s 4,000-square-foot outdoor courtyard, which surrounds a heated pool, also received an upgrade with the addition of new landscaping and flexible seating for gatherings up to 300 guests. The hotel also features two indoor meeting spaces and two boardrooms.
These newly renovated spaces position The Clara “as both a retreat and a gathering place,” per the release.
In terms of design, the hotel draws inspiration from natural textures, introducing wood finishes and greenery to the property for a “softer, more welcoming palette” throughout the building, per the release.
“We saw an opportunity to thoughtfully transform this property into something that feels deeply connected to its surroundings and to today’s traveler,” Mehul Patel, managing partner at NewcrestImage, said in the release. “From the materials and textures to the programming and hospitality approach, every element is being reimagined to deliver something distinctive for this market.”
Additionally, its location in Plano about 20 miles north of downtown Dallas, also offers guests access to the region’s business centers, per the release. The hotel is also near the border of Frisco, Texas, which offers plenty of retail, entertainment and dining, and is home to major sports organizations, including the Dallas Cowboys.
NewcrestImage develops “distinctive hotel properties” across the U.S., with about $2.7 billion in real estate transactions, per its website. In 2023, the company acquired a 50% stake in Coury Hospitality.
