Dive Insight:
W Hotels properties are “designed to foster meaningful moments that go beyond the standard hotel stay,” according to Marriott. In line with this ethos, the Hoboken hotel offers guest rooms that blend colors, textures, polished metals and lighting elements that play on the city’s history.
For example, the revamped guest rooms offer nooks featuring warm pendant lighting that “function as an intimate gathering space,” according to Marriott. Meanwhile, the bathroom mirrors draw inspiration from the tunnel connecting New Jersey to New York, the company said. In addition to standard guest rooms, W Hoboken offers 20 suites and two penthouse units.
The property’s design carries into its signature “Living Room” gathering space, where a wall of metal mesh tubing echoes the industrial materials of Hoboken’s historic train tracks, according to Marriott. The lounge area is open to locals and guests alike, serving coffee and snacks during the day and a larger dinner menu at night. Other dining concepts at the hotel include the farm-to-table Halifax and Sushi by Bou restaurants.
W Hoboken’s “transformation represents a bold step forward in our continued commitment to redefining luxury lifestyle hospitality,” George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader for W Hotels, said in a statement.
Last year, Marriott unveiled W Hollywood, the West Coast flagship for the luxury and lifestyle brand. Since then, the flag has also expanded to Cleveland and Austin, Texas. Last month, Marriott debuted the W Hotels global flagship, W New York – Union Square, following a $100 million renovation.
