Hotel technology company Hapi has appointed President Jeff Bzdawka to CEO, the company announced Thursday.
Bzdawka, previously CEO of Knowland, joined Hapi in October 2024 as president and will succeed founder Luis Segredo, who will transition to the role of chief strategy officer. Bzdawka brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience to the executive role, having held various senior leadership positions at Hyatt Hotels, TravelClick and Pegasus Solutions, according to the release.
The executives assumed their new respective roles on Feb. 1, a Hapi spokesperson told Hotel Dive.
As CEO, Bzdawka will oversee Hapi’s direction, operational performance and financial wellbeing of the company as it enters its next phase of growth. It’s not a task he is unfamiliar with: during his time as CEO of Arlington, Virginia-based hospitality sales platform Knowland, he helped scale the company post-pandemic and oversaw its acquisition by Cendyn, another hotel technology company.
Bzdawka said in a statement he is taking over the reins at Hapi at “a pivotal moment” as hotels contend with the rise of artificial intelligence.
“Hotels are under increasing pressure to act on data in real time while managing a complex technology ecosystem,” he said in a statement. “We’ve built a strong foundation at Hapi, and my focus will be on scaling responsibly, executing with precision and continuing to deliver meaningful value to hotels and technology partners.”
Founded by Segredo in 2017, Miami-based Hapi works to enable collaboration between hotels and tech brands. As CEO, he helped expand Hapi’s global presence, broaden its product offerings and scale the company to support more than 15,000 hotels, including brands such as IHG Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Sonesta Hotels.
As chief strategy officer, Segredo will focus on Hapi’s long-term planning and strategy growth. In a statement, he said he looks forward to the company’s next chapter under new leadership.
“I’ve known Jeff for more than 15 years and worked closely with him as Hapi has grown and scaled,” Segredo said in a statement. “He brings deep industry experience, strong operational instincts and a genuine commitment to our customers and team.”
