Dive Insight:
Six Senses Camp Korongo “will blend the brand’s distinctive values and touchpoints in a unique location while also underscoring our growth plan for the brand in the Americas,” Jolyon Bulley, IHG Americas CEO, said in the release.
In the U.S., Six Senses is expanding in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Colorado. Locations for the brand are “chosen for their unique surroundings, natural beauty, and ability to inspire deeper connection,” IHG said.
Founded in Thailand, the wellness-focused spa, resort and residential community brand is growing as part of IHG’s broader luxury and lifestyle push. In 2026, IHG plans to open luxury and lifestyle hotels in California, New York and Florida across its InterContinental, Kimpton and Vignette Collection brands, per the release.
Expected to open in 2029, the Six Senses Camp Korongo resort’s design will be spearheaded by South Africa-based architecture and design studio Luxury Frontiers.
The resort comes as “outdoor exploration, natural connection and wellness continue to inspire luxury travelers,” Bulley said.
IHG competitors Marriott International and Hilton are also expanding their luxury and lifestyle portfolios with outdoors-focused accommodations.
