- IHG Hotels & Resorts will open a Kimpton hotel in California’s Napa Valley, the hotel company announced Thursday.
- Newport Beach, California-based Stratus Development Partners will oversee the 123-key Kimpton Napa’s development.The hotel is slated to open in 2028.
- The hotel will be the first Kimpton in Napa Valley, and the 10th in California. IHG is expanding the brand as part of its broader push to grow its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the Americas.
Dive Insight:
Kimpton Napa will have a “prominent and visible location” in the town of Napa, occupying two four-story buildings on First Street between Main Street and the Oxbow Public Market, according to IHG.
“As an iconic travel destination with a culturally rich history, Napa Valley is a perfect next location for Kimpton,” said Leanne Harwood, IHG’s senior vice president and managing director of luxury and lifestyle in the Americas, in a statement.
Kimpton Napa will feature the brand’s signature restaurant and bar offerings, including a rooftop bar and restaurant, as well as a central courtyard, garden patio, outdoor spa and contrast therapy studios.
Kimpton currently has nearly 150 open and in-pipeline hotels worldwide. Recently announced developments include Kimpton Fredericksburg in Texas’ Hill Country and Kimpton Coco Palms Resort in Hawaii.
Harwood previously told Hotel Dive that IHG has been on “a fairly rapid growth path” in the luxury and lifestyle segment, particularly in the Americas region.
Elsewhere in Napa, the luxury Appellation Healdsburg resort opened in Healdsburg, California, this month.
