Hotel Equities made multiple executive appointments into newly created positions across its full-service, focused-service and lifestyle divisions, according to a news release obtained by Hotel Dive.
The internal changes will help to enhance the company’s innovation and performance initiatives, the Atlanta-based hotel operator and developer said, as well as shape guest experiences across the portfolio.
“These executives bring exceptional talent and diverse industry experience to their newly created roles,” Hotel Equities CEO Albert Smith said in the release, adding that the team’s leadership will play a critical role as the company strengthens its divisions across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean and Latin America region.
“By promoting from within, we’re investing in high performers who will help us grow our portfolio and expand our platform for innovation — from traditional hotels to new concepts like our leading outdoor hospitality brand, Postcard Cabins,” Smith said.
Among the transitions, Hotel Equities’ Peter Tziahanas was named president of the full-service division, and David Rosenberg was named president of the focused-service division.
Tziahanas joined Hotel Equities in 2021 and previously served as executive vice president of operations. His new role will focus on internal and external stakeholder collaboration and driving “operational excellence, profitability, and enhanced guest and employee engagement,” per the release. Prior to joining Hotel Equities, Tziahanas held leadership roles at Pivot Hotels and Resorts, HRI Lodging’s Holston House and Atrium Hospitality, according to his LinkedIn.
Rosenberg joined Hotel Equities in 2020 and was most recently the company’s executive vice president of operations. He led the company’s outdoor hospitality push by helping to integrate Postcard Cabins into the portfolio, per the release. Last December, Hotel Equities was selected to operate 29 Postcard Cabins locations, following Marriott International’s acquisition of the brand.
Meanwhile, Liz Flurry, who joined the company in September, according to her LinkedIn, was promoted to vice president of growth marketing from her previous role as director of marketing and brand activation. She previously held leadership roles at Greenwood Hospitality and Marriott.
In the lifestyle division, Brandon Standerfer was promoted to vice president of distribution, while Jennifer Cannistraci was promoted to vice president of sales. Both executives came to Hotel Equities as part of its May merger with Springboard Hospitality, per their LinkedIn profiles.
The company also made several title changes for recent hires.
Becky Vealey’s title was updated from vice president of revenue generation to senior vice president of sales, full-service and lifestyle division. Carol Lobaito, formerly vice president of sales and marketing, is now senior vice president of sales in the focused-service division. Both Vealey and Lobaito joined the company this month.
Hotel Equities also hired Eve Tronson as vice president of marketing for its lifestyle division. She previously served in various leadership roles at Viceroy Hotels & Resorts, per the release.
Earlier this year, Hotel Equities named industry veteran Greg O’Stean as chief development officer.
