Accor has appointed hospitality industry veteran Gilda Perez-Alvarado to group chief strategy officer, the company announced Monday.
Perez-Alvarado joins Accor from global real estate company JLL, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in providing strategic advice to some of the hospitality industry’s largest owners and investors.
In her current role as global CEO of JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group, which she assumed in 2021, Perez-Alvarado oversees global investment sales, debt and equity placement, strategic advisory and asset management services throughout the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She also leads JLL’s Global Hotel Desk investment sales team.
Beyond JLL, Perez-Alvarado holds board and membership positions at Blackstone Mortgage Trust Inc., Cornell University’s Board of Trustees and the World Travel & Tourism Council.
Perez-Alvarado will start at Accor on Oct. 1 as a member of its management board, based in Paris. She is tasked with overseeing the company’s global strategy, relations with hotel owners and strategic partnerships, reporting directly to Accor Chairman and CEO Sébastien Bazin.
“I am confident that with her considerable skills and global hospitality expertise, Gilda will help us unlock the power of Accor’s strategy providing guests, owners and investors with an unrivalled hospitality experience,” Bazin said in a statement.
JLL announced that William Duffey in EMEA, Nihat Can Ercan in Asia Pacific and Kevin Davis in the Americas will replace Perez-Alvarado to lead the Hotels & Hospitality platform. Additionally, Mark Wynne Smith will assume global capital markets board sponsorship for the hotels practice in addition to leading the company’s value and risk advisory practice.
