Dive Brief:
- Four Seasons, alongside longtime development partners Fort Partners and Merrimac Ventures, is bringing a new resort and residences to popular ski destination Telluride, Colorado, the hospitality brand announced this week.
- Four Seasons Resort and Residences Telluride will offer 52 traditional guest rooms, 43 hotel residences available for rental and 26 private residences, according to the brand. Adjacent to the gondola connecting Telluride and Mountain Village as well as the Telluride Ski Resort, the property will provide ski-in/ski-out access in addition to other luxury amenities.
- With the development, Four Seasons expands its portfolio to “one of America’s best ski destinations,” Bart Carnahan, president, global business development, portfolio management and residential, said in a statement. The brand is currently expanding to other ski destinations across the U.S., as well, as travelers increasingly seek outdoors-focused experiences.
Dive Insight:
Designed by Olson Kundig, with interiors by Clements Design, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Telluride will encompass three connected buildings. The hotel residences will range from one to four bedrooms, while the private residences will range from two to five bedrooms. The rooms and suites will feature floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain views.
The resort and residences will share amenities, including two culinary outlets, a fitness facility and a spa with a thermal lounge, cold plunge and eight treatment rooms. The property will also offer a lap pool and an outdoor hot tub.
In addition to those amenities, guests and residents will have access to year-round outdoor activities, including exploring Telluride’s historic downtown.
The property will join Four Season’s ski portfolio, which includes resorts and residences in Vail, Colorado; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and other international destinations.
Last year, the hospitality brand announced the forthcoming Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Deer Valley at Deer Valley East Village near Park City, Utah. The resort takes shape as travelers demand more outdoors-focused experiences.
Other hotel brands looking to capture similar demand include Hilton and Hyatt, which are also expanding in Deer Valley. And earlier this week, Marriott launched Outdoor Collection with properties located near ski resorts, national parks and beaches.
