- Curator was founded in 2020 by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust in collaboration with hotel operators including Davidson Hospitality Group, Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Sage Hospitality Group, Springboard Hospitality and Viceroy Hotels & Resorts amid growing demand for lifestyle hotels.
Dive Insight:
Each of the six hotels “brings a distinct personality and strong sense of place that perfectly aligns with Curator’s mission to celebrate individuality in hospitality,” Curator President Jennifer Barnwell said in a statement, adding that the properties “reflect a dedication to memorable, localized guest experiences.”
Travelers are increasingly seeking cultural experiences and a sense of place at their hotels, experts told Hotel Dive earlier this year.
In California, Tower23 Hotel is one of San Diego’s few luxury lifestyle hotels located “directly on the beach,” according to Curator. Meanwhile, Bellanca Hotel is situated on Catalina Island, also offering ocean views.
Padre Hotel sits within a historic landmark in Bakersfield’s downtown, and the retro Rambler Motel offers on-site amenities like an arcade and complimentary beach cruisers.
Elsewhere, Heat Hotel includes a newly opened patio bar and access to nearby attractions including hiking trails and golf courses. And Jacksonville’s 11 North, a former bed and breakfast, features just seven rooms with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, per the release.
Curator and its hotel operator partners give lifestyle hotels access to programs designed “to enhance the guest experience, improve employee engagement, and create value,” according to the company.
In 2024, the brand added properties in Florida, Virginia, Missouri, Colorado, Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Maryland to its portfolio.
