Dive Insight:
The Texas and Oregon hotels “reflect our focus on strategic destinations that strengthen Cambria’s presence,” Mark Shalala, senior vice president of development for upscale brands at Choice, said in a statement.
Located minutes from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, the Cambria Hotel Euless – DFW Airport South offers 107 “design-forward” guest rooms and suites in “one of the nation’s busiest transportation hubs,” according to Choice. The hotel is located near AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as well as entertainment, dining and business destinations throughout North Texas. The property also features an on-site restaurant and bar as well as modern meeting facilities.
Meanwhile, the Cambria Hotel Bend – Mt. Bachelor offers guests access to “one of the Pacific Northwest's premier outdoor destinations,” in addition to “one of the nation's most celebrated craft beer scenes,” according to Choice. The 131-key hotel features an on-site restaurant and bar as well as outdoor gathering space with a fire pit and cornhole.
In addition to expanding the Cambria brand to markets where “business, leisure and lifestyle travel intersect,” per Choice, the hotels support the continued growth of Choice Hotels’ upscale portfolio, Shalala said. Over the last several years, Choice has focused on expanding its upscale offerings in part to meet shifting traveler demand.
The company’s upscale portfolio — which also includes the Ascend Collection, Radisson, Radisson Blu and Radisson Individuals — currently spans more than 75 hotels open across the U.S., with more than 50 hotels in the pipeline. Choice said it plans to open additional upscale hotels in Boston; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jacksonville, Florida; as well as Canada.
Last year, Choice opened Cambria hotels in Templeton, California; Tampa, Florida; Plymouth, Massachusetts; and Portland, Oregon. The company also recently expanded its Ascend Collection portfolio and made brand upgrades across its Radisson flags.
