Dive Brief:
- BWH Hotels has expanded its design-driven boutique hotel brand, Aiden, with new openings across North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe, according to a news release.
- Growing the brand’s U.S. footprint, in particular, BWH recently opened Aiden by Best Western Sacramento Downtown in California and Aiden by Best Western Kansas City Downtown in Missouri. Other brand properties recently debuted in Germany and Thailand, per the release.
- Additional Aiden openings are scheduled for the remainder of 2026, including in Denver; Tempe, Arizona; and Pullman, Washington. The brand’s expansion comes as travelers seek hotels with “personality, a sense of discovery and a connection to the destination,” Brad LeBlanc, senior vice president and chief development officer at BWH Hotels, said in a statement.
Dive Insight:
The Aiden portfolio is expanding with hotels that have their “own story and creative expression,” LeBlanc said. This comes amid sustained demand for design-led positioning and a locally inspired guest experience, according to BWH.
The brand’s new Sacramento hotel, which opened in May, features design elements inspired by the “culture, creativity and character” of California’s capital city. The property features the first installation of Aiden’s “Art Welcomes You In” initiative, which incorporates site-specific artwork created by local artists throughout the property.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City hotel, which opened in June, was influenced by the city’s “celebrated culinary scene” and creative energy, per the release.
In the months ahead, BWH plans to open additional Aiden properties in “destinations where travelers seek hotels with local character,” BWH said.
Aiden Denver, slated to debut this fall, is inspired by the city’s River North Art District and will feature a rooftop dining concept with skyline views as well as commissioned artwork. Aiden Tempe is also expected to open this fall near Arizona State University and will feature a revamped lobby and rooftop experience as well as a new wood-fired pizza concept.
BWH plans to open Aiden Pullman next summer near Washington State University. The property will offer a “home base for guests exploring the region's dining, golf, craft breweries and outdoor recreation,” per the release.
BWH also plans to debut the Aiden brand in Canada, with a 145-key boutique lifestyle airport hotel in Toronto. The property, an office-to-hotel conversion project, will feature a skylit atrium restaurant, a jazz-inspired cocktail lounge and curated spaces for both business and leisure travelers, according to the release.
The newly opened and upcoming Aiden hotels build upon BWH’s broader lifestyle portfolio.
In April, BWH launched WorldHotels Backdrop, a collection of upscale outdoors-inspired accommodations in destinations near mountains, coastlines and national parks. And in June BWH debuted a sales division dedicated to driving commercial growth across its upscale and luxury properties.
