Notable Sunset Strip property Mondrian Los Angeles has rebranded as The Valorian Los Angeles, Curio Collection by Hilton, the company announced in a Thursday news release.
First opened in 1996 on Sunset Boulevard, the Mondrian underwent a major redesign in 2018 that reinforced the property’s status as a “modern West Hollywood icon,” per the release. Now, the hotel’s relaunch under Curio Collection in Hilton’s growing lifestyle portfolio “introduces a refined new identity that honors its cultural legacy.”
The Valorian Los Angeles will be operated by Pivot, the lifestyle operating group of Atlanta-based Davidson Hospitality Group, according to the release. Marked by 30-foot entry doors, the hotel’s interiors embrace “bold color, rich texture and atmospheric lighting.”
Randy Diamond, regional vice president of operations at Pivot, said in a statement that the refreshed property “marks the next evolution of a hotel that has long helped define the Sunset Strip.”
“We are preserving the edge, creativity and sense of occasion that made this property iconic, while elevating the guest experience through a refined new identity,” Diamond said.
The hotel’s new chapter also introduces White Rabbit Sky Lounge — formerly SkyBar — a reimagined rooftop bar offering panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and the downtown Los Angeles skyline.
The Valorian Los Angeles’ 236 guest rooms and suites also feature skyline views and “reflect the bright, modern aesthetic introduced in the property’s redesign,” per Hilton. Meanwhile, the property's signature Casa Madera restaurant will remain a destination for guests and locals.
The hotel’s relaunch comes as Hilton expands its Curio Collection footprint. Last month, the 200-room Monarch San Antonio in Texas opened under the collection, while the 210-room Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi in Hawaii plans to open this fall.
The Curio Collection portfolio is nearing 200 hotels worldwide, per Hilton
